School Year Coming to a Close
May 19, 2008
The 2007-2008 school year at Carrollton C.U.S.D. #1 is rapidly coming to a close with the final student attendance day on May 23. Activities and programs have been scheduled and students have been busy preparing for final exams and end of the season contests and performances. We have had another outstanding school year with many reasons to celebrate. Students have excelled in and out of the classroom and have made us proud.
Congratulations to all our high school graduates and parents. Friday evening, May 23, marks the 134th commencement exercise for the Carrollton School District. What a tradition it has been! Another outstanding community tradition has been the Senior Tea, which was sponsored by and held at the First Baptist Church on Friday May 16. Our thanks to those from the church for giving of their time and talents for another wonderful ceremony and experience.
Let us also not forget the annual Baccalaureate Service that is coordinated by the Ministerial Alliance. This year's service will again be held at the St. John's Church on Wednesday May 21. Not to be left out, the district's eighth grade students will be recognized at the annual Recognition Program to be held on Thursday evening, May 22.
With the advent of warmer weather and summer vacation, we urge all community members to be on the watch for the students. Let's have a safe and enjoyable end of the school year and summer.
